*Sounds like what Boris the Johnson did, said he had Covid, supposedly was in ICU, miraculously was out of hospital within days and posting a video looking as fit as a fiddle, was made a hero by the right-wing press and then p*ssed off to his country house & avoided scrutiny.
*Honestly, the brazilian president did that before elections and it worked. He also “got” covid and got better super fast and made a point on how this was just another flu.
*He transfers powers to Pence for a couple weeks so Pence can pardon him before they get crushed in the election.

*Why quarantine? Thinking, one, or two reasons. Possibly, to get out of sight and away from a threat against them and not scare the public. Or, they will take the therapeutic drug and become well. Showing everyone the truth. He was on HCQ before. It is hard for me to imagine he has gotten it.
*Faking illness is the only way he can get out of more debates and save face. It has the added bonus of “proving” that it’s just a mild cold when he doesn’t become catastrophically ill.
*It provides a desperately needed, *complete* change of conversation for two or three weeks. At which time, Trump can emerge hale and hearty and say that Covid barely laid a glove on him.
*No need to drink bleach or ingest disinfectants or inject daylight.
*I’m not saying that Donald Trump is pretending to have Covid to cause the left to freak out in a frenzy of murder wishes and to wash all the garbage stories off the front page, but I’m not saying I’m not saying that.
