CSI: American Carnage (Wednesday, March 25, 2020)

WASHINGTON – Andrew, Andrew, Donald says into the phone, we haven’t seen you. How is your brother, Christopher? Andrew says, He is well. Donald says, Yes, yes. I watch him on the teevee. Such an important man. A real big shot. And how is your mother? Such a fine woman, a woman of great longevity, a woman who is known to all who know women. It was a great honor for you to name your law after her. Matilda’s law. I noticed that you introduced the law without  consulting me, but that is okay, Andrew, that is okay. You are your own man. We’ve known each other many years, but this is the first time you ever called on me for counsel or for help. I can’t remember the last time that you invited me to your house. But let’s be frank here. You didn’t want to be in my debt. Andrew says, People are dying. They are dying across the old neighbohood. You have the power to prevent these needless deaths. The neighborhood needs ventilators, masks, gloves. We have no more. We beseech you. I am begging you. We need justice. Donald pauses and says, You bash me on the teevee, but now you come to me and you say, Give us the ventilators? You don’t ask with respect. You don’t offer friendship. Instead, you call me on my private phone on a day when I am very busy, and you demand ventilators and you ask me to help and you tell the teevee that I am not doing enough. I told the people today that I am working very hard to help New York City & State. Dealing with both Mayor & Governor and producing tremendously for them, including four new medical centers and four new hospitals. Fake News that I won’t help them because I don’t like Cuomo (I do). Just sent 4000 ventilators! Andrew, how long have we known each other? I knew your honorable father, may he rest in peace, and your blessed mother, a woman of great greatness. They would know the old ways, the honorable ways. They would know that help, It’s a two-way street. It is as it was in the neighborhood. You have to treat us well, too. Consider the 4,000 ventilators a gift from me. Andrew says, Thank you. We need 30,000. Donald says, Consider this gift to be a gift, as I said.. Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day – accept these ventilators as the gift of life itself. Andrew says, Grazie, Donald. Donald says, Prego. – Wednesday, March 25, 2020
