CSI: American Carnage (Tuesday, October 29, 2019)

The great cathedral is hushed as hooded congregants file in. They fill pew after pew after pew, heads bowed, hands folded across expansive girths. A figure in lavish robes, precious jewels sparkling from his be-gemmed fingers and dazzling like incandescent bulbs from his encrusted miter, mounts the pulpit and gazes out.

Let us pray, he says. What is the feeling?

The congregants murmur, Deeply troubled.

I said, What is the feelingl?

Deeply disturbed.

What is the feeling?

Anger at the duplicity. Anger over the hypocrisy. Anger over the double standard.

Let us pray.

What is the commitment?

To gather the information before we reach the conclusions.

And what are the conclusions?

We have not read it. The information is secret. The committee has not finished its work. The information is second-hand. The information is hearsay.

What are the conclusions?

There is nothing there. There is no impeachable offense. There is no underlying crime.

I said what are the conclusions?

There is a long-running attempt to overturn the election. There is a long-running effort to destroy this presidency. There is no transparency. There is no decency. There is no due process. There is no justice. There is no quid pro quo.

And who is guilty?

Adam Schiff.

And what did he do?

He lied. He leaked. He bore false witness. He gave succor to Hillary. Obama. Biden. Pelosi.

What is the mission?

To find the Whistleblower.

What is the mission?

To expose the hoax.

What are the stakes?

Our collective future. The future of this country. The ability to vote in freedom and not be punished for it.

Let us pray.
