CSI: American Carnage (Tuesday, July 21, 2020)
WASHINGTON – Donald pulls away the canvas covering the nostrils of President Buchanan and peers through the peep hole into the Oval. Donald says, Okay, they’re there. I see the nasty Hunt woman, all the others. Muncher – you’ll be up first. Let’s go. Donald replaces the canvas on Buchanan’s nose and leads his group out of the side room and into the “Liar’s Den,” as Donald likes to call his Oval briefings. We describe what’s really going on, Donald has said, and then they make up what they think will help the radical left which is not what is going on. The presser begins. The Times guy takes out his recorder. Mnuchin talks about all the money, so much money, but a lot of the money is still around, so much money. Don’t want to coddle. We’re going to make sure that we don’t pay people more money to stay home than go to work. So we’re going to get a lot of money out of cutting payroll taxes down close to nothing because there’s a big pool there, lots of money to go after. Mitch speaks up. He says, And law suits, we don’t want the law suits, the last thing we want is to face a blizzard of law suits in the middle of all this. So we will be shielding our businesses from all legal action. Donald, arms crossed behind the Resolute desk, nods. There are too many law suits waiting out there, he says. And I see that over the weekend — I guess on Friday — there was a worldwide number of deaths — worldwide. Because when you watch the news — the local news — and you see it, and it’s — it’s, like, all about the United States. They never like to talk about what’s going on in the world. But you look at Mexico, Brazil, many countries in Europe, many countries — all over — Russia. Russia has a got a tremendous problem. It’s — what’s going on is terrible. It’s terrible. But this is a worldwide problem. Death is worldwide. This is happening all over the world, not just the United States. And it’s a tough one. It’s very tough. It’s very sad when you see the death. It’s all death that could have — could’ve been stopped by China. If they wanted to stop it, they could’ve stopped it. But now we have the death and we have the sadness, but we’re cutting payroll taxes and stopping all these lawsuits from the radicals, not the dead, the other ones, the ones who’ve made it, and they should be happy, not going to court. — July 21, 2020
