CSI: American Carnage (Thursday, August 8, 2019)
The Times guy pushes his way into the Off the Record, sees the Post guy, and joins him at the bar. The Post guy says, Hey, do you feel it? The Times guy says, Feel what? The Post guy says, Feel the healing power! Feel the wounds closing! Feel the unity! Feel the closeness of the brotherhood and sisterhood of grief! The Times guy says, Poor Donald. All these people dead in the streets and no one seems to notice what he’s been through. The Post guy says, No. Beto with his fake name and his failed candidacy didn’t notice. Elizabeth and Bernie with their support for Antifa and the Dayton shooter didn’t notice. Boring Sleepy Joe didn’t notice – he was looking for his fastball. Did Sherrod notice? The Times guy says, I don’t think so, he was just visiting some victims with the mayor. Did the mayor notice? The Post guy says, The mayor had exited the twitter world and was back on the real streets, so, I guess no, she didn’t notice. The Times guy says, Did they say that Donald was greeted like a Rock Star when he visited the hospital? The Post guy says, No. That was Donald’s press guy, Dan. Here is Dan on twitter. He said: Very SAD to see Ohio Senator Brown, & Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley – LYING & completely mischaracterizing what took place w/ the President’s visit to Miami Valley Hospital today. They are disgraceful politicians, doing nothing but politicizing a mass shooting, at every turn they can…The President was treated like a Rock Star inside the hospital, which was all caught on video. They all loved seeing their great President! The Times guy says, Wow! Sherrod must have really savaged Donald! The Post guy says, Yeah. Here is what he said. The Post guy flips through his notebook. Here it is. Sherrod said Donald was received well by the patients, as you’d expect. They’re hurting. He was comforting. He did the right things and Melania did the right things. And it’s his job in part to comfort people. I’m glad he did it in those hospital rooms. The Times guy says, That’s pretty savage. No wonder Donald and Dan and the rest are upset. The Post guy says, He sure is. Here is what Donald said on twitter. He was hopping mad at that vicious Brown attack. Here we go, Donald said: Just left Dayton, Ohio, where I met with the Victims & families, Law Enforcement, Medical Staff & First Responders. It was a warm & wonderful visit. Tremendous enthusiasm & even Love. Then I saw failed Presidential Candidate (0%) Sherrod Brown & Mayor Whaley totally misrepresenting what took place inside of the hospital. Their news conference after I left for El Paso was a fraud. It bore no resemblance to what took place with those incredible people that I was so lucky to meet and spend time with. They were all amazing! The Times guy says, Don’t try to trick Donald – attack him at your peril. Did he say anything about the victims, by the way? Guns? The Post guy says, Well in El Paso, the ones still in the hospital refused to see him. Let’s see, Donald attacked Joaquin Castro for being a lesser brother of a failed presidential candidate who, I think Donald says, makes a fool of himself every time he opens his mouth. He attacked the Fed for interest rates. He attacked China. He’s posted lots of pictures of himself grinning and giving a thumbs up. He went after Shep Smith and boosted OANN. Fox is in the dog house. But, no, nothing about the victims. Nothing about El Paso. Nothing about Dayton. I mean, whatever happened in those places is just secondary, or at best a backdrop. Donald is the point.
