NEW YORK — George says, Rahm, in not too long Joe Biden’s going to be up there on the debate stage, Bernie Sanders on his right, Elizabeth Warren on his left, what’s that going to be like? Rahm says, Well it’s one thing to snipe and shoot from 20 miles away, it’s another to stick a knife in the gut and shove the body into a back alley. Chris says, That’s true, that’s true. George says, Rahm, why is that? Rahm says, Well they’re gonna be next to each other, George, so when Biden get’s gutted, and whether it’s Bernie or Warren, I don’t know, both of them are capable of it, both of them can take old Joe and slit him like a bag of cotton. All the balls and parts are gonna spill out. Joe’s got to be ready. Politics is personal, and the other thing is this is a real opportunity for voters to kick the tires, open up the hood, check the oil, check the engine, figure out what that rattle is. Is it a death rattle? Or is it just a loose gasket? Chris says, The person who is most at risk here, I think, is Harris. She attacked in the first round, took some incoming in the second, saw some craters open up, lost a few good men. She’s got to figure out her strategy or she’s gonna be out on the battlefield with nobody behind her. It’s gonna be a mess. She’s gonna get taken down and left lying there, gasping, like a dying fish. George says, There’s the Medicare for All problem. Rahm says, Yeah. It’s a problem. It’s a loser. Reckless. You know. I went to Wisconsin, great place, and I traveled all over the state, 1000 miles. Chris says, In Wisconsin? Rahm says, Absolutely. 1000 miles, to diners everywhere, up and down, Milwaukee, all the other parts, and everywhere I went, every single diner, people came up to me and said, Don’t take away my insurance. Mr. Mayor, please. I love my insurance. I voted for Trump last time and I’m not happy, but all these Democrats, all they want to do is take away my insurance and replace it with a government program. Chris says, Yeah, it’s a loser. Medicare for all. People don’t trust it. They don’t believe the government is capable of running it. Not going anywhere except to the morgue and it’ll take the Democrats with it. People are angry. How are they gonna pay for it? How? Rahm says, Joe is such a decent guy. They know Joe. They know what’s in the package. They kick the tires. They look under the hood. And they say, Medicare for All is a loser. Joe has a measured approach. In the Wisconsin diners, and I hear in diners across Michigan and Pennsylvania, people are sick and tired of all this Medicare for All talk. They want their insurance. They pay for it and they want it. George says, Well we’ll take a look at that after this brief message. – Monday, September 9, 2019
