WASHINGTON – In my view, Ken, the bar for impeachment is very, very high. Ken says, Absolutely, this is obvious, Alan. Alan says, If the president guns down someone on Fifth Avenue, would we consider that an impeachable offense? Ken says, I would think not. In the absence of a federal indictment, any activity the president engages in – simple extortion, racketeering, shakedowns, protection schemes, numbers running, drug dealing, prostitution — none of these are impeachable offenses. Alan says, There can’t be any question about that. Ken says, I’d even go so far as to add pimping to the mix of allowed behaviors. Alan says, The president specifically asked me to stay away from the kiddie argument, but, again, there can be no question that fooling around with consenting children is absolutely okay. Ken says, Yes. We don’t have to condone the behavior. The question is whether it rises to the level of the high crime. Alan says, Jeff knew how to give meaning to the phrase, high crime, if you know what I mean. Ooooo boy! Ken says, I do, I do. I think we should try to keep Jeff out of the arguments. By the way, you hear anything from Ghislaine? Alan says, She’s undercover, working with Barr on the ping pong, I think, but I don’t think we want to go there. – Monday, January 20, 2020
