Announcer: We caught up with the president seated at his customary table in the Grill Room of the beautiful Mar-a-Lago Club.
Announcer: Hello, Sir.
Trump: How are you? Come on in. Sit down. You want some potatoes? We’ve got all the potatoes you could want – the fried, the whipped, the beaten, the mashed. Name it.
Announcer: Thank you, Sir, and thank you for agreeing to see us. We only have a few minutes.
Trump: Okay, you want to ask me something, go ahead, but the lawyers say I can’t say everything. I may, I’ll probably get in trouble for it if I do, so maybe I won’t. We’ll see. But I want to talk to all my beautiful people who love me, love me like no other. They want me. They want their president. We could all kiss — you know that, probably better than me. Maybe I should kiss what’s her name, you know.
Announcer: Well, then, let’s get right to it, Sir. Caveman, from Conway in Arkansas, says, We love you like Jesus Christ.
Trump: Thank you very much. Go ahead.
Announcer [reading] Isn’t it true that ‘tifas often wear police uniforms and red caps, which would be illegal?
Trump: They are vicious liars, which all of you know already, and they would be impersonating an officer, which is more. They are not MAGA. So the answer is yes.
Announcer: This is from Jacob, who apparently lived in Phoenix. I don’t know if I can pronounce this correctly, but Jacob says, Ahh-oooh! Ahh-ooh! Oooooo-wah!
Trump: I think you have to have a question, otherwise I can’t answer it, you know what I mean? But I can tell you is that a lot of people have been duped by the other side, duped and lied to, and the lies continue, and all I can say is that no one is in a position where he allowed duping to put him in a position to make decisions he should not have made. My people, my black, my Hispancs, the women, I’m telling you that we cannot simply wave a magic wand and label all these people on January 6th the same.
Announcer: Jenna, from Texas, says, I feel like I was basically following my president. I was following what we were called to do. He asked us to fly there. He asked us to be there. So I was doing what he asked us to do. Isn’t that true?
Trump: We’ve accomplished a lot. What we’ve done has been amazing by any standard. With the vaccine we are skyrocketing downward. We have worked hard. We left it all — as the athletes would say — we left it all on the field. We know you love us and we love you all, every last one of you, all of you.
Announcer: This is from Josh in Missouri, What are your plans, Sir?
Trump: That’s a great question, Josh, a great one. I could ask the same, but I don’t think so, I said, remember, We’ll do something, but not just yet. Remember that? They were all asking me, Sir, Sir, Sir. But, you know, Josh, sometimes you don’t want to say I told you so. Sometimes you just say, Have a good life. We will see you soon. We’ll do something, but not just yet. You say, Just a goodbye. We love you. We will be back in some form.
